I’m still recovering from the insanity and sleeplessness of BlogHer12. It was a crazy fun weekend, meeting amazing new friends and connecting with brands. There will be a post (or more) with my recap from the trip, as soon as I have the energy to process it all and sort through my swag.
Today I want to share with you my view of Times Square as a NYC newbie. Saturday after lunch, I had enough of the Hilton (where the conference was held) and needed to see bits of the city. I decided to wander down to Time Square solo and am so glad I did. No matter how many movies or pictures you see, you don’t really get” the hustle and bustle of Times Square until you are there, taking it all in. I must say this girl from Maine fell in love with the sights and sounds of the Big Apple.

Phew, that was quite the photo post.
Tips from this newbie about Times Square:
1. You can get Broadway tickets for 50% off the face value at the TDF Ticket Booth at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. I was so very tempted to try to get ticket to see a show but I had to get back for a session. Next time my butt will so be standing in line for a show.
2. The person dressed as the Statue of Liberty does not like having his/her picture taken for free. Statue person will try to scam you into paying $5.00 for a picture by holding the torch toward you, then as you are grabbing it statue person will shove a sign in your face that says “Picture $5.00.”. See the above photo, this is at the point where Statue person caught me taking a picture of them. Oops!
3. Bring good walking shoes. I know this is pretty much a given but seriously you will need them.
4. Eat at a food vendor. I didn’t and am pretty sad I missed my oppurtunity to experience NYC food trucks.
Until we meet again, NYC.
Special thanks to my sponsor Copy-Kids who helped me get to BlogHer12 and experience one of the greatest cities in our country.

All the photo people sort of freaked me out. Especially the Elmo one.

Beautiful… I just love the city! I live so far from it and wish that I could visit often but it’s just not possible. With so much to see and do no matter what time of year it is I don’t think that I would ever get board!

You got a lot of great shots! And that Statue of Liberty guy was freaky!! I saw him, and thought he seemed weird, haha.

So many awesome photos! I got tired of lugging the old Canon around after the first hour. I’m a sucky photog!

My shoulder was really sore for the next few days after lugging it all around. I knew I would regret not having it though and am so glad I did. I also brought my point and shoot which I used most of the time for BlogHer stuff.
great pics – i especially love that self-portrait!
