My boy is crazy in love with technology already. Boy moms must be up on all the latest technology and toys. It’s amazing how quickly even small children feel the gravitational pull towards electronic gadgets such as phones and touch tablets. When I first heard about LeapFrog’s new Touch Magic toy line, I was sure Xander would love it. Mama’s intuition was correct. The minute I took the LeapFrog Magic Touch Learning Bus out of the packaging his little hands swiped it, as his eyes grew wide with excitement. Over the past few weeks he has been extremely interested in naming letters and signing the alphabet so I thought the Learning Bus would be perfect.
“Please, mommy help me turn it on.”, his little voice pleaded. I quickly showed him the on/off switch in the back of the toy and then the on/off touch button on the front. As soon as the first musical note played, he rapidly flew to work. His little fingers scrolling through the various letters and his legs and arms swinging to the music. With each gentle swipe and tap of his fingers, he was rewarded with exciting music, sound effects, and verbal instructions.

When the magical toy voice asked what letter makes the “mmmmm” sound, he glanced at me for help. I took his hand and guided it toward the correct sound. He shouted “Hooray!” when he touched the letter M. We continued to play “guess the letter game” for quite awhile. His little body resting against my chest and his legs folded around me. Quiet moments like this with a three-year-old are rare, so I savored every second I had with him.
Once he was tired of matching the sounds to letters I wrangled a few more minutes with my active jumping bean, by showing him the sound effect learning mode. My boy loves making sound effects, including farting noises. He often catches our daycare providers up when this sweet voice suddenly shouts out “I farted!”. Needless to say he was intrigued with the wide variety of sounds shown on the Magic School Bus, including instruments and animal noises.

“Oh, mommy look! I hear a fire truck.”, he happily exclaimed leaping up and running to his toy firetruck. “I love the loud sound my fire truck says. What your favorite sound?”.
I was so caught up in counting just how many words were in his sentence, that I forgot to answer him. “MOMMY! What your favorite sound?” he again asked, this time sounding a bit annoyed.
I came close to him and wrapped my arms around him stating, “Oh, my favorite sound is listening to you and your brother talk and play.”
True fact.
I love the Touch Magic Learning Bus because it holds my active little boy’s attention long enough for me to sit and cuddle with him for at least 10 minutes. It’s a toy that is engaging and interactive for both child and adult. Two thumbs up from this boy mom!
I would love to hear from other boy moms! What toys do you love to watch your boys play with? What toys do you despise?

We like the Little People vehicles (especially the tractor, school bus, and airplane). They love books as much as any toy. I don’t love them running around with their older cousin’s nerf guns saying pow pow, but not because I think they’re imitating violence because they don’t even know what violence is. Mainly because they tend to stick them in my face, sometimes hitting me (hard plastic, ouch!).

Sounds like this is the perfect toy for my 2 yr old! Getting him to sit still and play with something quietly for more than 10 seconds is a challenge,

I can’t wait to get this for my 2 year old boy this Christmas. He’s always trying to learn letters/sounds thanks to his big sister. He really doesn’t have any toys I don’t care for. Mostly blocks and cars and trains. And, of course, his sister’s arsenal of dress-up clothes and dolls, lol. Great review!

My little girl absolutely loves her Learning Bus and so do I! It’s not annoying loud. It’s super easy to clean. And? I don’t know if this is a coincidence, but my little girl has added more words to her sentences in the last week alone. Talk about awesome!
