New Kitten, Pigskin and Stitches

by Mindi Stavish on September 25, 2012

Even though I just had 10 glorious days off from work, I am so not ready to be back at work.  I am ready to get back to blogging though!  I have so many photos to sort through and stories to share.  Now that vacation is over, I can look ahead to the fall season, my absolute favorite time of the year.  My fall bucket list is overflowing with activities I hope to enjoy before winter arrives.

Here is a quick catch up of what’s been going in the the Stavish house before and after our long road trip to New England.

A few weeks ago we headed to Old Town for a trip to my favorite yarn store and cupcakes. The lighting was divine at the cupcake store and I snapped a bunch of great pictures of the boys. Here is a favorite!

More photos of our day in Old Town coming soon!

If you remember our family cat of 9 years, Emma, passed away in June. We decided we were ready for another cat when we fell in love with this kitten about three weeks ago. Meet sweet but crazy 3 month old Kailey. The boys are quite in love with her.

We are pretty excited that football season has started! Noah now yells “touchdown” on command and Xander is pumped for games. I can’t wait to share our pictures and thoughts on our first NFL game. It was a surreal experience. Even though we won’t be making our annual trip to Oklahoma for a Sooners football game (sad face), seeing the Patriots play was just as amazing.

Last night Noah met a milestone no parent every looks forward to, the first trip to the Emergency Room to sew bits of your baby back together. After bath time, Noah was being his normal goofball self and sitting on Xander’s potty. As I was getting a band aid for Xander’s back (since Noah bit him and band aids make everything better when you are three), Noah fell face first and hit his forehead on the wooden step stool. I rushed to pick him up and when I did saw blood spurting from his forehead. The gash was unlike any other cut I’ve ever seen. Yup, it was deep. My poor boy! Off to the emergency room we went. Surprisingly enough a cut to the head doesn’t stop our crazy little redhead. He was still running around in circles at the ER. After waiting about an hour, the doctor took one look at the cut and confirmed that Noah would need stitches. Thankfully she was amazingly fast and gentle. We were in and out of the ER within an hour and a half.

With the arrival of fall weather (in the mornings) I’m so excited to be able to dress the boys in hand knit sweaters. I’m even more excited to see the beginning of the turn of colors. Oh it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

That’s all the randomness for today. Be sure to check out my guest post over at Crazy Crafty Cool for tasty Fall Chocolate Halloween Bark.

by Mindi Stavish on August 17, 2012

Noah 16 month collage
Your now a true little brother, poking, pinching and nudging big brother out of the way. Staking your claim.brothers playingYou adore your brother. Always right by his side, playing with cars and tossing around a ball. You love your hot wheels, balls, fuzzy stuffed animals and small toys that you strongly clutch in your little hand.

You know the sound of a running bath. As soon as the water starts to drip, I hear you scamper toward the bathroom with the widest grin plastered on your sweet face.noah newspaper print feet

Your still a little peanut, who loves to give huge big open mouth kisses.

Your little giggle is contagious. It fills a room with so much joy.Noah swingingYour voice is sweet to hear. Your words are amazing- woof, up and go are just a few you know.Your red curls matted down when you wake up from your slumber. I’ll shed tears when it’s time to cut them.16 month old opening the doorYour big blue eyes as they light up when you spy me at the door, during daycare pick up. When I lift you up you wrap your arms around me and snuggle into my chest. My happy moment.freeze pop loveYou’re a mommy’s boy. You hang out under my feet when I’m making dinner, begging to be picked up.

You still despise your car seat. You arch your back, twist and turn as soon as I attempt to sit you down.noah riding his bikeYour not ready to give up nursing just yet. I’ve tried. And failed. Maybe this month? Just know you won’t be nursing at three or four. This mommy has a limit. You’ve been warned.

Your walking now. On the day you turned 16 months. Your officially a toddler.

I love you, my little toddler.walking

How to Go From Standing to Walking in Just One Week

June 7, 2012 Meeting milestones

My baby is growing up. Last Thursday he started standing for the first time. It took my breath away watching the twinkle in his eye as he discovered gravity and balance. The first day it was for a few seconds. By Monday his little legs held him up for almost 30 seconds. Two short days later, [...]

Noah 12 months

April 16, 2012 Meeting milestones

It’s hard to believe that just 12 months ago Noah weighed only 6 pounds, 6 ounces. I miss the sleepy, cuddly newborn stage, but also love all the new things the next year brings. I can honestly say I don’t have a “favorite stage of development” in the first few years of raising my children [...]

Happy First Birthday Sweet Noah!

April 10, 2012 Birthdays

Dear Noah, Wow, I can hardly believe a year ago today I was in labor with you, my sweet little boy. You came into the world 3 weeks early and in a hurry. It was a memorable day that I will never forget. One of my favorite days of my life, the day I met [...]
