Last Saturday afternoon, we brought the boys to the Baltimore B & O Train Museum for their annual Day Out with Thomas event. Of course they both had an absolute blast! Since my back has been bothering me quite a bit due to the growing baby, I decided to leave my DSRL at home for once. Shooting with just my IPhone was a new challenge for me. At times, I really wish I had my “good camera”, but am relatively happy with all the photos I ended up getting.
Ever since I changed jobs and started five days a week again, I have really missed having one day during the week to hang out with the boys. Weekends are always full of chores, shopping and family events, but there really is nothing like a middle of the week day spent exploring a part of our wonderful city.
I took a day off last week to spend the day with the boys and it was a blast. After the Graco Jogging Stroller event we headed to the National Arboretum to inhale the sweet fragrance of the lilac trees. The Arboretum is one of my favorite places in all of DC. It’s a bit off the beaten path, so most of the time it’s not crowded. Also, you would never know you are in the heart of a hustling and bustling city full of traffic, bad air quality, and politicians.
These two couldn’t wait to go exploring….
Historic National Capitol Columns
Blooming beauties everywhere
Two year old’s remind you that there is always time to stop to smell the flowers
Lilacs surrounded by buzzing bees and beautiful butterflies
Some run as not to miss anything
Other’s take their time, enjoying the moment
A perfect day with these boys that steal their mama’s heart again and again
