Last Friday we started the holiday decorating process. And yes, it is quite a process this year. We have taken our time getting Christmas trees (yup that is a plural -s) up and decorated, lights up outside, and other decorations around the house. On Friday I set up the mantle, which came out great! I can’t wait to post some pictures. On Saturday morning Adrian pulled all of the Christmas bins from storage in hopes that we would start decorating. Our bodies had other plans, we both were sick for the entire day. Sunday we were feeling much better and spend the day putting up the family room tree. I plan on finishing the tree in the entry way and the garland for the staircase this Thursday. This week I’ll be posting a holiday sort of tour on the blog with all our decorations.
He was in awe!
Saturday morning I came downstairs to find little Xander pulling all of the top metal hooks off the round ornaments! His fine motor skills are a little too good at this point.
Quietly exploring the ornaments
What a difference a year makes as far as Xander’s involvement in helping decorate the tree. He carefully unwrapped all of the ornaments from one entire storage container. It was so nice that I didn’t have to do it. He also had a blast putting ornaments on the tree. It was fun to watch him become so excited about the holiday!

The Stavish family had a wonderful Christmas. It was so special to share the traditions with our son. Typically we go to New England for a week around Christmas, but this year we decided to enjoy a week of relaxing at home. Although we missed family and friends, it was very nice to stay home. Santa Claus was good to mommy, daddy and of course Xander. He even brought Emma a stocking!
