Xander caught his first “I’m back in daycare sickness” stomach bug over the weekend. He still was feeling not so great on Monday, so we all stayed home. By mid afternoon his tummy was finally feeling much better, so we enjoyed the nice fall weather with a walk in the neighborhood. He all of a sudden LOVES going for walks in the stroller. I have been trying to walk with them more often and give him the choice of the wagon or stroller. He typically chooses the stroller and will repeatedly ask for “stroller” until we finally get outside. I’m quickly learning that toddlers are all about the here and now. Don’t even think about talking to them about something your going to do in a few hours, days or months. It will inevitably result in a meltdown and preservation.
The J.J. Cole Bundle Me infant and Toddler blankets work okay with the Baby Jogger stroller. Due to the bulk of the material there isn’t much room for Xander to move his legs, but he didn’t seem to mind. I’m sure he appreciated being warm.
Is there anything more spectacular than fall foliage?
Xander learned the color red today. He is becoming more interested in colors and randomly names them. I love watching his cognitive skills develop.
When I stopped to take pictures of the foliage X pointed out these “grapes”. He has such good eyes!
I love how Noah’s pumpkin hat came out. The pressure is on to knit Xander one now.
No walk is complete without a trip to the playground. I was shocked that Xander navigated the playground equipment all by himself while I fed Noah. He is now fearless on the slide. The last time I brought him to the playground he wanted nothing to do with it unless he sat on my lap. Mr. Stan (the daycare provider) brings the kids to the playground almost everyday and I certainly can tell.
We attempted to feed the geese a bread heel, but Xander had other ideas. As soon as I started throwing a piece of the bread he said, “My bread.”. Sure enough he wanted to eat it. He is too funny!
Noah enjoyed the baby swings (tasty) and playing with some toys on his blanket. It warms my heart to watch Noah and Xander together. They are two peas in a pod. Xander walked the rest of the way home, running and looking at all the rocks. He busted out these three sentences that shocked his proud mommy, “I like rocks.”, “I like our house.”, “I like cars.”. Yes, with the pural -s, and pronoun “our”. Go little X!
