Creating a Space of My Own with Alphabet Photography

by Mindi Stavish on November 10, 2012

It’s hard to believe that we closed on our Ryan Home 2 years ago this December. We have made so many wonderful memories here and I’m looking forward to more to come. As we continue to decorate our home, I struggle to find artwork to display on the walls. Our family room is filled with wonderful photos from the boy’s photo shoots, which I love, but variety is nice.

In the next six months or so, we are going to be quite busy with redecorating a few rooms. First off, Noah is almost at the point of transitioning out of his crib, which means redecorating his room into a space that fits his personality. Next, we will tackle turning the less than appealing guest bedroom into a nursery for the new baby, who will make his or her arrival in June. Finally, we are working on creating a functional basement area, including playroom and craft space. The craft space will be a place all of my own, with girly decor, a sewing table, a plush chair to knit in and storage for my yarn.

Here is what my craft space looks like now. It is functional, yet quite plain and boring.

When I was provided with the opportunity to review the beautiful artwork from Alphabet Photography, I immediately wanted the piece to be for my craft space. Alphabet Photography was founded by Jennifer Blakeley after she was inspired by the children’s book Alphabet City by Stephen T. Johnson. Jennifer spent a large part of 2006 to 2007 traveling throughout North America, collecting a complete gallery of photos that resemble letters in the English Alphabet. Perhaps the most stunning element of her alphabet gallery is that all of the letters are of objects found in their natural surroundings and are not staged.

Currently Alphabet Photography is a well known business run by Jennifer and her husband, in Canada. Jennifer’s alphabet letter art work has been featured on NY Daily News, CNN (Wolf Blitzer), National Post, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, Tyra Banks Show, USA Today, Ryan Seacrest Show, and much more! Celebrities such as Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate, Tyra Banks, Ryan Seacrest, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, John Schneider, and Nelly Furtado have all raved about Alphabet Art.

The phrase I chose for my craft room was Knit Purl, which are the two stitches that are used in the art of knitting. When my artwork arrived in the mail I couldn’t wait to see the creation in real life. Alphabet Artwork is a company that goes above and beyond what the box stores do for an online shopper. My artwork arrived in a well packaged and protected box, carefully wrapped with simple packaging, a ribbon, and a thank you card.

The artwork I received has a 3” solid wood frame with a dark Chocolate finish accented with gold leaf.  The frame is also matted with a museum quality double mat with a V groove. The piece of artwork is elegant and will bring an extra dimension to my craft space.

The artwork came ready to hang and signed by Jennifer herself. These special touches show just how much this company cares about their product and their customer.

As much as I wanted to hang the artwork right away, I am holding off until we paint the room, color of paint to be determined. I’m so excited to get this beauty on the wall!

With the holidays just around the corner, Alphabet Photography, would be the perfect customized gift for someone special in your life. This artwork can transform a room that is lacking in style into a place of your very own.  Each official Alphabet® Photography art piece is hand crafted, high quality, and truly original!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Alphabet Photography. The opinions and text are all mine.

Welcome to Our House

by Mindi Stavish on September 16, 2011

After almost 9 months of living in our house the entry way finally looks inviting. I guess I never took a picture of the entry way right after we moved in (or I just can’t locate the photo). Here it is about a month before the house was complete.

The mirror, chest and rug are all from Bassett Furniture. I love how it looks together! So very inviting.

Master Bedroom Update

September 16, 2011 Building Our House

One week after our Family Room furniture arrived our Master Bedroom furniture was delivered. We have been looking at the Montrose Set at Basset Furniture since last fall, when we were building our house. The entire set was close to $6,000 originally so we couldn’t pass it up when the sales person called us to [...]

Family Room Furniture

September 15, 2011 Home Projects

We slowly are continuing to decorate our house with furniture, blinds, pictures and more.  It is going to take some time but it’s hard to be patient.  About a month ago, our family room furniture was delivered.  When we moved into our house, I knew I wanted to decorate this room using fall colors because [...]

House updates

April 15, 2011 Building Our House

It’s been awhile since I have posted about the house.  We still are slowly decorating and putting ideas together for furniture we want to buy and projects to do. Those with design degrees are welcome to share their professional advice!  I found a few nice mirrors and wall hangings at Home Goods and Pier One [...]
