Adrian and I lived in Moore, Oklahoma for three years when he was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. During our time in Oklahoma, I attended and graduated with my Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and he started his military career. Although our time in okie land was short, we will always have sweet memories of a state we grew to love. My thoughts are with everyone in Moore, Oklahoma as they deal with loss and tragedy from the devastation of the tornadoes that ripped through the lives of our fellow Oklahomans. As I sit here in my house that is still standing, I am thankful for all I have and am saddened for all those who have lost so much.
In memory of all our wonderful moments in Oklahoma, including our first three years of marriage, our first duty assignment, earning a masters degree, becoming pet owners to our lovely cat Emma, and savoring good BBQ the Stavish family is thinking of Oklahoma. You are strong.

Now that Xander is old enough to enjoy kid activities and outings we felt that it was a must to bring him to something different, while in Oklahoma. We have never been to the Science Museum, so that’s where we headed. We were pleasantly surprised that military get in free (a savings of $30.00 for two adults! We spent a good two hours there and still didn’t see it all. I was rather impressed with the large area that they have set up for younger infants and toddlers. They even had a nursing room and change area for moms. HUGE props for that! Xander enjoyed playing with the huge bubble table and the water table, until some older kids came around. There was also an area with mats and large balls for younger babies.

Once we pried Xander from the water table we explored the huge dinosaur, mouth, and rocket. Xander got a kick out of the astronaut cut out.
Lastly we explored Xander’s favorite room with all sorts of things to build, stack and just be a boy. Apparently all the other dad’s and son’s felt the same way. As I looked around I noticed I was the only mom in the room. Noah and mommy enjoyed some tummy time with the large blocks, while the big boys built trucks with legos.

After we explored the gift shop and bought Xander some dinosaurs, we headed to Hideaway Pizza for lunch. Love, love, love their pizza! I just can’t find a veggie pizza like theirs anywhere.
I was so hungry I didn’t take a picture of the pizza before I started devouring it. Crazy boy with an olive on his finger. He loves olives but could care less about pizza…even cheese or pepperoni. Go figure.
After lunch we went back to the hotel so the boys (and mommy) could nap before the game. The boys did not want to nap, mommy did. No one got a nap. Sometimes even the best plans don’t work out.
