Today I’d like to celebrate Earth Day with a smattering of flower photos from our back and front yard. I’m very disappointed I wasn’t able to get down to the tidal basin this year to take in the beauty of the Cherry Blossom Festival, but life happens. The blossoms were at peak last Wednesday and Thursday, when work was crazy. Then Friday there was lots of birthday planning to get accomplished. Not all is lost though, as we enjoyed the beautiful blossoms from our own backyard. Last fall we purchased two cherry trees for our backyard, so it was exciting to watch them bloom this spring.
Sights our eyes have feasted on over the past few weeks….
Early signs of spring greeted us with bright yellow.
Then our magnolia tree started to show it’s beatuy
Our noses were delighted with the fragrant hyathis.
Each morning new colors of budding tulips greeted us.
Mother natures spring grande finale- the young Cherry Blossom trees in our backyard began to bloom. Sweet scents. Simply amazing sights.
Their blooming cycle bittersweet, gone by far too quickly.
Until next year spring blooms….thanks for showing your beauty.
What’s your favorite spring blossom? How do you celebrate springtime with your family?
