One Summer, Six Ball Parks- Potomac Nationals

by Mindi Stavish on September 5, 2012

One Summer, Six Ball ParksOur quest to complete our challenge of One Summer, Six Ball parks continued a few weeks ago with a short road trip to Potomac, Virginia to take in a game at Pfitzner Stadium.  Much like the Washington Nationals game we went to three weeks ago, the weather was less than cooperative. Fortunately the rain held off for the first six innings. We enjoyed a great evening of baseball at another fun minor league park.

It’s not a baseball game if there aren’t cracker jacks and cute boys in baseball cap- errr or Storm Trooper helmets.  Whatever works!

For awhile I had the best seat in the house, snuggled next to my two favorite people.

Then this happened. Steal my mommy heart. Do you think these three are related?

But wait there is more….

Must savor these moments. They pass by too quickly.

After several innings the sky started to look a bit eerie.

The rain began to fall, and the tarp covered the coveted diamond. The big one easily entertained himself with the magic of puddles.

While splashing in puddles, we discovered the chorus warming up for “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

I even managed to get a short video clip.

The boys were fading quickly, so we decided to call it a night. The rain held up just long enough for us to walk back to the car.

Luck would have it the game was called and the fireworks show started.  We lingered a bit longer to watch the colorful display.

As we drove home, the boys drifted off and Adrian and I enjoyed reliving the fun moments of the evening. Before we knew it we were home, the moon lighting up the neighborhood.

It was another fun evening with our little boys, who are becoming quite the sports fans. Xander knows who Bryce Harper is and Noah now says baseball every time he throws a ball. I’m impressed with how well he can whip it with his left arm.

Stay tuned for photos and recaps as we continue our challenge of 1 Summer 6 Ball parks. It may be after Labor Day, but the calendar says it’s still summer for another few weeks.

Play ball!

6 Ballparks in One Summer- Bowie Baysox

by Mindi Stavish on June 29, 2012

At the beginning of summer, Adrian declared that our summer goal was to visit all six of the local baseball stadiums by the end of the season. I’m always up for fun trips for the boys and so our challenge began. baseball challengeLast Saturday evening we had a blast at the Bowie Baysox doubleheader game in Bowie, Maryland. It just happened to be Star Wars night, so Xander was pretty thrilled. Any special event where daddy shares his Dr. Pepper with him is pretty fun in the eyes of a 3-year-old.drinking dr pepperNothing says baseball like ballpark peanutssharing baseball peanuts with daddyEven little N was happy to lick the salty goodness. January 30, 2012 Meal Planning

I was feeling quite lazy this weekend, so didn’t add any of this week’s recipes into Kitchen Monki. I also didn’t feel like going grocery shopping at ALL, so will do the shopping tonight on my way home from work. I’m sure that will make me extra grumpy when I get home, but such is [...]

The Very Last Christmas Post (I promise)

December 29, 2011 Holidays

We had a wonderful Christmas day together as a family.  The boys enjoyed every moment of it and we loved watching them experience it. As a kid Santa would leave our stockings at the end of our beds to open on Christmas morning. We would then have some toys to play with, while we waited [...]
